In a successful cross-departmental collaboration involving the Information, Configuration and Knowledge Management team, HR, Technical Training, the DNO Shareholder Team, and the Defence Gateway team, AWE has reached a significant milestone.
AWE colleagues now have access to the Defence Gateway a secure platform that connects members of the wider Defence community to a suite of Defence web applications. Whether on a mobile device or desktop, users can now tap into a broader range of tools and resources designed to support their work and professional development.
“When teams come together towards a shared objective, remarkable achievements happen, as demonstrated by this initiative. Providing our staff with access to these educational materials will not only boost growth and improve the skills of individuals and teams but also foster collaborative innovation and generate cost savings for the organisation”
David AWE
This achievement opens the door to enhanced connectivity, streamlined access to Defence services, and a wealth of valuable information.
Enrolling on these platforms offers more than just workforce development benefits—it delivers tangible cost savings and promotes consistency across the DNE. By reducing reliance on in-house training and eliminating duplication across e-learning systems, the Enterprise can streamline learning delivery, ensure a unified approach to training, and make more efficient use of its resources.
“I am delighted to have led and successfully delivered the suite of Defence web applications to our colleagues in AWE. This success was made possible by working as ‘One Team with One Voice’ and using the ‘Best Athlete’ approach. Together we successfully overcame challenges and delivered the project.”
