Eko, the DNE Outreach programme, recently teamed up with Code First Girls to create a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) focused around an ‘Intro to Data’ Challenge. The main goal was to boost national security by addressing various database management tasks within a submarine-themed escape room scenario.
Participants were required to complete five core challenges and present their findings in a slide deck. They also had the chance to apply their new skills by tackling more complex queries.
An impressive 550 individuals registered for the challenge through Code First Girls, and three exceptional finalists were chosen for judging.
